The Crappy Trinity
As you probably figured out from reading the previous posts, Guilt, Shame and Anger are often connected and overlap. In fact, one will commonly lead to the other or appear as a coping mechanism (eg. feelings of Shame often manifest in inappropriate expressions of Anger).
The work you do to overcome your challenges in one area will help you immensely in the other two. However, the processes above will be significantly more effective if you check yourself first to identify which emotion you’re sitting in at that moment before jumping to a potential tactic to address it.
